It has been quite a while since the last release from Jark Prongo on the Mojuba sublabel, but now the label is back with some fresh music from the prolific Mr. Weisemann. It’s his a.r.t.less debut and it is great music. This guy needs to be getting more props - his recent 7"s and now this EP shows he could give us a masterclass in deep Detroit-flavoured electronic soul such as the great John Beltran or, more recently, John Daly. There are deep emotions as well as demanding grooves and the balance of subtlety and roughness is impressive - well worth a listen!

Long awaited new material from the Detroit master ANDRES on Moodymann’s “other” label. In true Mahogani Music style they decided to release the second of his two EPs before the first. There has been a new ANDRES album rumoured for a while now so we are thinking this is the second half of it. There’s ten tracks in total, with a few skits and interludes bridging the gap between classic Detroit House jams and gospel style vocal tracks that KDJ himself would be proud of. This one was well worth the wait.

"Golden Complexion" feaTURes the vocals of Blakkat and is a touching and almost beatless ballad, showing MANUEL's diversity as a producer. On the remix we have the maverick genius of Pepe Bradock who delivers two contrasting remixes. His 'Minnie Mouth Remix' ups the tempo with a remix that is reminiscent of early Herbert, whilst the 'Reef Breaks Remix' goes even more lazy and hazy. MANUEL's own 'Live Dub Remix' brings it to the dancefloor with a version which will please fans of Charles Webster.
